Uses the charge remaining in the battery for starting, collecting the amount needed to start the car. Fully charging with the unit's charger, as with traditional jump starters is not necessary. Compared with ordinary jump starters, the unit has no self-discharge. When fully charged it stays that way, until the next time it is used!
